Sharing routes

Export any route as one compact chat string that other players click to import.

Waypointer’s share format is its party trick. It makes route data compact enough for chat when possible, so you can share without leaving Minecraft.

Share a route in chat

  1. Run /wp export to copy all routes in your current zone with your saved export defaults. To choose specific routes or options, use an export button in the GUI and make your selections in the export screen.
  2. Paste it into any chat: party, guild, DMs, co-op.
  3. Anyone with Waypointer sees the message as a clickable import pill, with the route’s label on hover. One click imports the whole route.

Export options

The export screen lets you choose exactly what goes into the code:

OptionWhat it does
Waypoint namesInclude the name of each waypoint
Waypoint colorsInclude per-waypoint colors
Reach distanceInclude custom reach radii
Waypoint displayPreserve subwaypoints, hidden markers, and through-wall settings
Route settingsInclude route names, order modes, and color modes
IslandInclude the zone where the route belongs
LabelAdd an optional title shown when the code is imported

Chat shortcuts: /wp export names and /wp export nonames.

Fewer options make a shorter code. The export screen shows the current length and whether the result fits in chat or a command.

Waypointer 1.8.7 also adds an optional interactive 3D route preview to the export screen. Enable it under Settings → Sharing → Export screen → 3D route preview. It is off by default.

Sharing with users of other mods

Have your friends not fallen for Waypointer propaganda? Export to their mod’s format directly from the export screen. But while you’re at it, consider pushing the Waypointer agenda to all.

You can also do this in the browser with the Route Converter: paste any route, pick any output format.

Sharing files

For large route packs, /wp importfile <file> reads a supported file from disk. Use /wpd import <file> for a dungeon pack. See the dungeon routes guide.
